I put in a 40 mile radius but the few who did appear had been on there for so long, years even, seem to no longer be paid up members. I have just rejoined, was a member 2 or so years ago and disappointingly most of the faces were the sames ones as they were then. Many, many profiles with no photos, not active members, no replies. The Telegraph Reviews
App is a bit clunky but certainly have had plenty of hits.
Not sure about all these negative reviews. I wonder how much experience they’ve had of online dating.
And yes it’s syndicated so the db is shared across a few platforms. This is not unusual either.
You need to spend a bit of time on your profile and provide a selection of pics with a decent head shot. I’ve had no inappropriate contacts; I live in hope …!Date of experience : November 20, 2023

You are matched (regardless of your search criteria ) with outdated profiles and profiles with no pictures. I got only one reply to 40 messages. I'm going to go back to J4Dream.com
which I used a year ago and it produced results. It was the most solid dating site back then, I'll check it out again. I won't call DatingTelegraph a con site. It's just a big time-waster. Maybe they have good potential, but now it definitely looks like they don't know what to do with this potential. They have very few real users and they are absolutely not worth the money and the efforts.Date of experience : September 13, 2023

Sep 10, 2023A high-end scam.
Scam website. I made the effort to create an accurate profile only for it to be removed, with no forewarning or notification, within 48 hours. I e-mailed the support team for an explanation but they did not elaborate on why my profile was removed and instead asked me to send in a photo of myself and a copy of my photo I.D. Obviously, this wasn't going to happen, given the nature of the already bad handling of my account by the Telegraph Dating team.
Cutting the long story short: the site is an elaborate scam intended to take advantage of elderly persons who are not tech-savvy enough to be aware of the existence of other, more reputable dating websites. There is absolutely no ability to message other users on the site without purchasing a "subscription". If a user does not fall for this trap and staves off purchasing a subscription, they will have their account deleted within a 48-hour period.
The price for a full subscription is frankly insane; £38 per month, almost twice as much as far more reputable and populous sites like match.com, plenty of fish and ok cupid.
I feel unclean in simply having tried this site for a period of less than two days. In addition, all support staff I corresponded with were rude, dismissive, patronising, vague and very much gave across the impression of being young persons, poorly trained in the art of customer service.
Overall, a waste of my time and potentially a waste of yours, reader, if you make the same mistake as myself and try the website. Save yourself the aggravation.

I agree with the other reviews. I signed up hopefully to exchange a few articulate and interesting messages with like-minded guys. so disappointing. On a good day I may perhaps receive the odd message from 'Roy' aged 70 somewhere in Yorkshire or 'Lionel' in Dundee (I'm a 40 something in Cheshire) but more likely someone with no photos or most common, nothing at all. Nada. Zero.
This was my first return after a year or two and was amazed to find so many inactive members and profile photos still the same after so long!
Guardian Soulmates did the right thing and closed their site when their numbers declined and they couldn't invest in expanding. DT just continue to take peoples' money for no return. They could invest in the site, modernise and upgrade to attract more middle class professionals. There's a gap in the market now GS is finished. They won't. And it shows. The graveyard of dating sites!

No matter how many photos I submit, they will not 'allow' me to use any of them for my profile. They are perfectly clear and nice photos but I have tried at least 20 and they are still refusing me. They told me they should be light - they are! They told me they should be head and shoulders - they are - me sitting in a restaurant? But still not allowed and after days of trying to get any sense from their customer services I give up.
Customer services are at best offhand, at worst downright rude. I can only presume they are actually there to put people OFF signing up. Is this really what one would expect from The Telegraph? Avoid !Date of experience : April 01, 2022

Just another site taking advantage of the lonely.
I really did want to give this company a good review. I hoped I would find "the one" here. Their site looks appealing and settings are pretty decent but they completely fail to deliver what they say they are for, to match those who seek their soulmate. I live in a decently sized city, with around 1/4 million inhabitants. This site really trumpets itself as being the best but for what? best at making false promises maybe. In my case, I set up an account, filled in the info and set a radius of 60 miles. I thought that would mean at least 100 people who were within that area, as my "requirements" really aren't that specific. Now, they charge a huge fee of around £25 a month plus £10 for an "upgrade" that allows those people who don't want to pay to reply to you. So you're already being taken advantage of. Brushing this aside and paying for a 3 month package for nearly £100, I thought that paying this extortionate amount would yield results. Boy, was I wrong. Six members showed up in that radius I set. Six and all had been off site for over six months. Obviously they too didn't like this site. I still contacted a few members but guess what? none replied. Only four people visited my page and none contacted me.I feel I have been taken advantage of. Just like the other dating sites, Telegraph Dating trumpets itself but fails to deliver. My opinion on businesses has always been that customers should get value from it. Customers who feel they get value give good reviews, continue to support that business and/or recommend others to use that business. In turn, the business gains trust and a healthy (customers want to pay that business) income.
I am currently appealing a refund I'll update when I get an answer. I'll change the rating to two stars if I get my money back.
*Update. I got a partial refund, so I'll give em' credit for that, as not all scamming companies who claim to do a good service give you your money back when you call em' out.
