I went out on a lot of dates with this site. Everyone was nice and polite for the most part… I didn't meet my true love on a dating site but I was only on it for 6 months. My expe.

I helped my 74 year old grandfather who is a widower and looking for a companion get set up on his site. I took pics for him, filled out the profile and questions with him, got him a login, verified the account with him, and showed him how it worked. All pics were blurred out and you have to pay to see who liked your profile. I paid almost $80 for a 3 month subscription so he could use these features. Again, showed him how to use it and let him loose.

Within 5 minutes of him using the app while next to me, his account was logged out and blocked. I contacted customer support- no phone number is available. The response I received via email was that there was a violation in the pages long terms and use agreement. Nowhere in there do I see where he would have violated this agreement within 5 minutes of use. I asked for a reason and the response was they cannot provide more information on what was violated, even in regards to your own account. I met my husband on a dating site and it took a lot to get my grandpa to put himself out here, so it's so disappointing that this was his first experience. This site and app preys on the vulnerable elderly population and is a scam.

No way to tell if someone is a paid member who can respond to your messages. This is so Our Time can offer to sell you access from unpaid members as an optional purchase. While accounts active in the last few days are clearly marked, there is no way to tell how long other accounts have been inactive. I saw some of the same inactive accounts that were there when I joined briefly three years ago. No attempt is made by Our Time to allow only identifiable photographs as primary photo. There are hundreds of people who post a primary picture of themselves wearing sunglasses, which is just dumb. Minimum signup is now for 3 months. The database is not granular enough in filtering. I spent hours and hours eliminating members with dogs. Pet preferences could not be filtered.

I only received one genuine response more than two sentences long and I had a very impressive Summary (not saying I'm particularly handsome). Again and again, Our Time "Discovered" people who were hundreds of miles outside my designated search radius. If you do not block and "hide from search" every unsuitable "match" as they are offered, they will be presented to you again and again. The whole site is, of course, designed to generate revenue. Inactive accounts inflate the apparent pool of matches. You are continually urged to pay for "Boosts" to give your profile a higher position in the search results of others. Think about it. I live in an area with a relatively small number of members. My searches were coming back with four or five hits per week. Why should I pay to be put at the top of a list of 5 people?

I do not mind that there are few compatible people in my area. What I do mind is having to wade through hundreds of unsuitable "Discovered" profiles because, as I mentioned, if I do not at least block and "hide from search" they will be presented randomly as future Discoveries to give the sense of a larger member pool. I gave it my best effort for three months. I looked at every profile offered, which took a couple of hours each week. I sent messages to likely members and got only one reply. It became a major CHORE. If you live in a major metropolitan area or are free to flit about the country "looking for love", it might work for you. This is my second try with Our Time - nothing has changed.
